Single Molecule and Optical Tweezer

Understanding the importance of the force associated to the domain movements of BiP during protein translocation in the endoplasmic reticulum. To determine the mechano-chemistry of protein transport, we will use  optical tweezers (OT) to characterize the dynamics and force generating step(s) during the polypeptide translocation mediated by Bip and SecA at the single molecule level.
